Club Rules & Policies
Welcome to TLC!
We hope your experience with us is truly restful and relaxing; a home away from home. In the following paragraphs, we’ve laid out some simple guidelines for all TLC members to respect while at one of our properties. Our hope is that this will ensure a comfortable stay for all our members while on reserve, training, or before a trip. As always, reach out to us with any questions; we’re here to help.
THE BASICS

1. Be Friendly
Being friendly doesn’t mean you need to be best friends with everyone at TLC; it simply means being pleasant to be around. Introduce yourself to anyone you meet when you first arrive, say hello when you pass someone in the hallway, and be cordial with fellow airline workers. A little smile can go a long way.

2. Don’t be Messy
At TLC, you’re sharing living space with other people, so you have to be considerate. You don’t necessarily have to be a neat freak, but you should certainly be mindful of the messes you make and be willing to clean up after yourself. Some ways you can do this are by washing your dishes in a timely manner, putting away cooking supplies after you’re done using them, and removing any hair that ends up in the drain after washing your hair.
In our shared rooms, keep things neatly organized near your bed and locker; they’re there for a reason. Keeping your own area tidy will set an example for your roommates to do the same.

3. Know What’s Shared and What’s Not
Please don’t assume that somebody won‘t care if you use some of their almond milk every morning. Respect other members' belongings the way that you would like them to respect yours. Pay attention to labels in the pantry or fridge, and know what products are for communal use.

4. Be Mindful of Phone Use
There are several aspects to this:
-
Call and Notification Sounds – loud ringers or text message alert sounds can be really distracting to others who are working or sleeping. Please put your phone on silent or vibrate when at TLC.
-
Alarms – There are few things worse than hearing that dreaded phone alarm sound over and over when you’re trying to sleep. If you’re used to hitting snooze 5 times at home, don’t continue that habit when at TLC. One and done! Turn that alarm off ASAP if there’s another person (or multiple people) in your shared room still sleeping.
-
Taking calls – If you’re taking a call, whether it’s business or personal, head outside so you don’t distract others who are trying to work or sleep.

5. Communicate When Problems Arise
When you’re living with multiple people, it’s natural that some conflicts might arise. There might be somebody who never does their dishes, somebody who takes other peoples’ food, or somebody who is constantly on loud calls. Our advice is to calmly communicate with whoever is causing the problem and confront the problem head on, rather than being passive aggressive. You can also always communicate with the team here at TLC and we can help as well.

6. Don’t wait for Someone Else to do “it”
It can be tempting to turn a blind eye when you see something that needs to be done. At TLC, “It” can be a bunch of things: replacing the toilet paper if you just finished the roll, letting the TLC manager know that you’re all out of coffee, or taking out the trash if it’s about to overflow. Everyone in the house should put in a little effort to keep everything running smoothly.

7. Be a member of the TLC Community
There are several ways to be an active member of the community. Joining in on the fun and connecting with other members can really enrich your airline experience. If there are events being held at the house, attend them! If someone suggests having a house potluck night, join in. If you’re going to check out a cool event by yourself, ask if anyone wants to tag along.

8. Have FUN!
Enjoy yourself and make the most out of your TLC experience. You’re likely drawn to TLC for a nice place to stay and work, but you’re also there to make new connections and enjoy new experiences.
TLC RULES

When you booked your TLC subscription, you agreed to some TLC policies, so please make sure you follow the rules that you agreed to. Our TLC Rules are there to keep things in order, and following them can help everything go smoothly.
1. The Layover Club is exclusively for COMMUTING flight attendants, pilots, and other airline professionals only.

2. You can have packages sent to TLC but at your own risk. TLC is not responsible for lost or missing items, and we do not have a front desk for items to be left (so no 'signatures required' packages). Packages will be brought inside when found on the steps outside. TLC is not responsible for paper mail of any kind and any paper mail will be sent back "Does Not Live Here".

3. Don’t download all of your movies and TV series, stream them instead. This will lessen the stress on the internet speed.

4. Please keep the facility quiet between 10PM – 9AM and please keep the sleeping area quiet at all times.
5. Clean pans/utensils after your meal – don’t sit them in the sink.

6. Acknowledge people when they come and say hi. (I know it sounds obvious, but we all get lost in our screens/books sometimes – and being ignored can make others feel lonely or insecure).
7. Learn the names of your fellow members and take the time to introduce yourself.

8. Guests of any kind are not allowed at TLC. TLC is exclusively for members only.

9. Exclusively use headphones when listening to music or watching movies.

10. Don´t leave personal belongings in the common area.

11. We offer private lockers for rent ($15 a month) to secure your belongings (clothes and pantry) while you’re away. Keep your valuables in your private lockers at all times.

12. If cooking smelly food, please ventilate to reduce a lingering smell.

13. Keep bathroom utilities in your accessory bag or a basket that you can bring in/out as you use it.

14. Please use the vanity area to do hair and makeup so the bathroom is free for others to use.

15. Please don’t slam doors.

16. Be sure to close the doors and windows securely when leaving the property.

17. Make sure the exterior doors are locked at all times.

18. Please refrain from entering any of the other pods. We’ll ensure your space is likewise respected in return.

19. TLC is for working and commuting professionals, so parties are not allowed. Though we’re sure it won’t come to it, serious complaints of unruly behavior will unfortunately result in you being asked to forfeit your membership.

20. Check in is at 3pm, and check out is by 1pm. Arriving slightly earlier? Should be fine, but please check with us first.
An on-time checkout allows our cleaners to flip pods in time for the next member. If you don't check out by 1pm, a late fee of $25 will be charged. If you don't check out by 3pm, we'll assume you're staying another night and will reserve your pod for you for the nightly rate of $48.

21. All Access members can have fresh linens during their stay for $7 (per each new booking). Linens are included in the nightly rate for Pay As You Go members.

22. Need to cancel your reservation? Please do so at least 24 hours prior to your day of check-in to avoid additional charges. All-access members will be charged $48 for cancellations made within 24 hours of your day of check-in. Pay-as-you-go members will lose the reservation with no credit.
23. TLC doesn’t issue refunds, though, depending on the circumstance, credits for future night stays may be given.
24. While we do a thorough professional clean between stays, we kindly ask that you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used and put any dirty towels/sheets in the hamper prior to leaving. This helps us get through our cleaning process quicker and allows us to keep cleaning costs down for you and future guests.

25. We understand that accidents happen. But we do ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible and not have to charge the payment method we have on file.

26. We have a strict no smoking policy anywhere on TLC property.
27. What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but when staying at TLC we have a strict no drug use policy. This is just the law… not so much one of our rules.

28. To keep our costs down (and pass those savings on to our guests) we kindly ask that you switch off lights when they are not in use or leaving the house.

29. All Access Members of The Layover Club can stay a maximum of 5 consecutive nights. Pay As You Go Members can stay for as many consecutive nights they might need.
